ALedger — messages as case-record rows
Extends the approved active-case Ledger language: quick-taps are serif ledger rows behind gold hairlines (the wrist stays a record, not a chat app); the incoming message rides the same gold rail as the timeline. Calmest; most ELA.
Trade-off: serif rows are elegant but slightly smaller tap targets than B's cards; the Yes/No chips under the incoming message make the two-way channel one glance + one tap.
BCards — big targets, panic-proof
Optimises for a shaking hand: full-width stacked cards with the highest-value message ("I'm okay") given the oxblood-gradient primary treatment; incoming messages are an elevated gold-edged card with a haptic dot. Least subtle, most forgiving.
Trade-off: biggest tap targets and clearest hierarchy, but the loudest screen of the three — the gradient primary card gives one message special status (is "I'm okay" always the right one to privilege?).
CSheet — glance stays; messaging slides up
The Ledger screen stays exactly as shipped; messaging is a bottom sheet — a 2-column pill grid for canned taps, and incoming messages take the whole screen as a serif quote (crown-scroll for more). Most protective of the approved active-case screen; adds one interaction layer.

Trade-off: zero disturbance to the shipped Ledger and the full-screen incoming message is maximally glanceable — but canned pills are the smallest targets of the three, and everything is one interaction deeper.
How to score this
- The test is a shaking hand at 2 AM: which screen could you hit correctly, first time, without reading?
- Incoming messages: card (B), rail (A), or full-screen (C)? Remember an officer may glance at this wrist — does anything on screen create risk?
- Mixable: e.g. B's cards for sending + C's full-screen for receiving is a legitimate answer.
- Reply with a pick (or mix) + notes; the winner goes to the watch build queue behind voice-notes.
